Commercial Van Sales In America - October 2016 YTD

U.S. sales of commercial vans dropped 7% in October 2016, but the segment-wide decline masked a significant uptick among full-size vans.

U.S. Vehicle Sales Rankings By Model - October 2016 YTD

Led by the Ford Transit, full-size van sales jumped 5%, a gain of 1839 units. Transit volume rose 9% to 10,202 units, 30% of the full-size sector. 

 Ford's share of the small commercial van category, however, fell to 42% from 64% a year ago because Transit Connect volume plunged 62% in October 2016, hampered by a recall.

The Transit Connect wasn't the only van to sell far less often in October 2016 than in October 2015. 

 Chevrolet City Express sales tumbled 70%. 

 GMC Savana volume was down 45%.
