Canadian sales of subcompact luxury crossovers jumped 18% in November 2016 despite sharp declines reported by both the Audi A3 and Mercedes-Benz GLA.
Incidentally, with the addition of the GLA-based Infiniti QX30, total GLA/QX30 sales rose 13%. The class-leading BMW X1 nearly doubled its November volume to 520 units, the X1's third 500+ month in the last half-year.

Sales of the X1's bigger brother, the BMW X3, also increased to more than 500 units. The X3's larger brother, the BMW X5, jumped 58% to 650 units, fourth among premium brand utilities in November.
No premium auto brand sells more vehicles in Canada than Mercedes-Benz. But no premium auto brand operating in Canada sells more SUVs/crossovers than BMW. BMW calls them SAVs: sports activity vehicles.
BMW's SAV quintet is up 28% to 18,126 units through 2016's first 11 months, propelling the BMW brand to record sales of 35,067 units (an 8% year-over-year improvement) through 11 months despite an 8% drop in car sales.
Mercedes-Benz, which has seen its car and SUV volume rise 5% to 37,637 units in 2016 so far, produced an 11% improvement to 17,891 SUV/crossover sales in 2016's first 11 months.
